Special issue on soft computing for knowledge management and web applications

Recently, the researches on the soft-computing techniques and knowledge management have been spread widely to be critical areas. Meanwhile, their applications such as intelligent techniques in soft computing, web intelligence, ontology, and agent, play an important role in the development of distributed systems and the composition. The necessity of adaptation is apparent in the Web services world. In addition, the fuzzy approaches and Type-2 Fuzzy Set (T2FS) for ontology applications and adaptive Web services provide a linguistic methodology to deal with the knowledge model with uncertainty. A T2FS is three-dimensional and this additional dimension provides it to have additional degrees of freedom to model and handle the real-world uncertainty. During the past decade, T2FSs and systems have become very popular around the world. Researchers have applied them to various kinds of areas, such as in the business and finance, electrical energy, real-world automatic control, networks, healthcare, and medical domains, to model the uncertainty in the real world. The objective of the proposed special issue is to highlight an ongoing research and also to bring forward recent advances and present state-of-the-art developments on soft computing for knowledge management and web applications on various domains. We invite original contributions about approaches, methodologies, tools, and techniques about the soft computing for knowledge management and web applications. Regular papers contributions to this special issue will include, but are not be limited to the following areas:
